Add family members

Add each family member, with or without their own login — including if a child belongs to two homes.

In short: go to Settings → Family, and either create a child profile without login for the youngest, or send an invitation to an adult or teenager who should log in themselves.

Before you start

There are two ways to add a family member. A child profile without login is fastest and only needs a name — use it for the youngest. An invitation by email gives the person their own login, but requires that they've already created themselves as a user in Morgenrutine with the email address you're inviting. Both require a Pro subscription — with a free plan, the group can only have one active user.

Step by step

  1. Go to Settings → Family

See all members with name, coloured circle, and status.

  2. Create a child profile, or invite an adult

Click “+ Create child profile” and enter a name — or fill in “Invite by email” on the same page.

  3. Set name and colour

Click the member to open their detail page and choose a colour, used in all calendars and lists.

How an invitation is accepted

Today, an invitation can only be accepted from the iOS app. The invited person logs in with their own user, finds the group under Settings, and taps “Accept invite” or “Decline invite”. If they accept, they get Active status and can use the whole family's data across both web and iOS.

Good advice

  • Use a child profile for children under 8-10. It's fastest and doesn't require the child to have their own email.
  • Have the person create themselves first. Morgenrutine can't invite an email address that doesn't already exist as a user.
  • Set clearly different colours right away. It makes every later calendar and list markedly easier to read.

If an invitation can't be sent

Check these two things:

  1. Has the person already created themselves as a user with exactly the email address you're trying to invite?
  2. Do they already have a pending invitation from you?

If that doesn't solve it, write to us.
