Ask, tick off and keep track — without opening the app.
In the middle of a busy morning, you can ask Siri what the kids still need to do, tick things off by voice and follow the routine on the Lock Screen. When someone ticks something off, the rest of the family sees it straight away.
You already know the routine. Now you can talk to it too.
- Build the routine as usual
You create routines and activities in the web app or the iOS app. Siri uses the same names, so “Brush teeth” in the routine is also what you say.
- Ask Siri
Say, for example, “What is Emma missing in Morgenrutine?”. Siri answers out loud and shows how far along each child is. Open the app once first, so Siri learns the kids’ names.
- Follow along on the Lock Screen
Say “Start the morning routine in Morgenrutine”, and the routine appears on the Lock Screen with a countdown and the next activity. It updates on the family’s iPhones every time someone ticks something off.
What’s left? Siri knows.
Siri reads out what’s left in the routine the child is doing right now, and how many minutes are left. If no routine is running, Siri tells you what’s coming next.

With your hands full of packed lunches.
Say what’s done, and Siri ticks it off and tells you what’s left. If an activity is meant to be repeated several times, it’s marked as completely done.

The routine is right where you look.
Start the routine with Siri or with the button in Control Center. It then shows on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island and in StandBy, and it follows along on the child’s and the parents’ iPhones and iPads.
- A countdown to the end of the routine, how far along the child is, and the next activity
- Tick off the next activity straight from the Lock Screen
- When everything is done, it says “Great job!” and then disappears by itself
- The “Start routine” button can also go on the Lock Screen or the Action button
When you don’t have a hand free
From the kitchen
You’re making packed lunches and can’t see how far the kids have got upstairs. Ask Siri instead of shouting up the stairs.
When the kids can do it themselves
A child with their own iPhone or iPad can ask what’s left and tick things off by voice. They can only tick off their own activities.
When there are two adults
The routine is on both parents’ Lock Screens. When one of you ticks something off, the other sees it straight away.
Where do you do what with Siri?
Build the routines
Routines, activities and family members are created in the web app. The names you give the activities are the ones Siri recognises.
- Create routines and activities with names that are easy to say
- Add the kids to the family
- See the whole week and today’s routines
Talk to it
Siri, Live Activity and the Control Center button are part of the iOS app. This is also where parents decide what’s turned on.
- Ask Siri and tick things off by voice
- Follow the routine on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island
- Turn the features on or off for the family
