Plan the day with the timeline

See a single day as a visual timeline, and spot overlaps and tight transitions before they become a problem.

Web appiOS appUpdated September 15, 2026

In short: go to Planning, choose a date, and see routines and driving as blocks on a timeline from 6am to 10pm — click an open slot to create a new appointment.

Before you start

No setup needed — planning automatically shows your existing routines and driving trips. Want addresses on the map, set them up under Addresses. Want external appointments included, connect Google Calendar.

Step by step

  1. Go to Planning and choose a date

Every family member has their own column, with a fixed time axis from 6am to 10pm in the background.

  2. See the day's blocks

Routines and driving trips are shown as coloured blocks — position and height show time and duration. A red “now” marker shows how far the day has got.

  3. Click a block for details

See time, location, and notes, or edit the block directly.

  4. Create an appointment in an open slot

Click the dashed “Add” button at the top of a person's column — the same dialog as under Appointments.

What it looks like on iOS

iOS has a planning view for the day's routines and appointments, but without the web app's full graphical timeline — use the web app if you need to see overlaps and tight transitions visually.

Good advice

  • Use the timeline for tight transitions. A routine ending at 3:05pm and a pick-up at 3:10pm is easier to spot visually than in a list.
  • Add a location to the appointment. Morgenrutine geocodes the address and can suggest a routine stop if driving is involved.
  • Combine with Google Calendar. Then you see your external appointments in the same view as routines and driving.
