In short: mark each family member's morning routine as “First routine of the day (wake-up)” and the evening routine as “Last routine of the day (bedtime)”. The screen then switches between morning, evening and clock by itself, and you can tick off with the remote.
Before you start
- The Apple TV must be paired with the family. See Connect Apple TV.
- Family members must have accepted the invitation to the family. Otherwise they don't appear on the screen.
- The routines must have “Show in weekly plan” turned on. That is the default for new routines.
- The text on the Apple TV screen is currently in Danish.
Mark morning and evening
The screen doesn't show all of the day's routines, only the ones you have marked as the first or last of the day.
- Open the routine in the web app
Go to Routines and pick, for example, the morning routine of one of the children.
- Tick the box
Choose “First routine of the day (wake-up)” for the morning routine or “Last routine of the day (bedtime)” for the evening routine, and save.
- Do it for each family member
If several children share one routine, marking it once is enough. If they each have their own routine, each one needs marking.
Routines without activities work too. The routine is then shown as a single step that is ticked off as a whole, for example a bedtime routine that only needs ticking once the child is in bed.
What the screen shows
The screen switches by itself based on the time and your routines:
- Morning: from 10 minutes before the first morning routine starts. The screen stays up to 2 hours after the latest leaving time, or 15 minutes after everyone is ready, whichever comes first.
- Evening: from 10 minutes before the first evening routine starts until 5 minutes after the latest bedtime.
- The rest of the day: a light clock with the next routine and today's appointments.
Each family member has their own card or row. Anyone whose routine hasn't started yet shows its start time. Anyone without a marked routine is shown with an empty row.
The colours mean:
- Green: the person is on time with their current step.
- Yellow: the person is up to 5 minutes behind. Whoever is furthest behind gets a bigger card.
- Red: more than 5 minutes behind. Red is never used in the evening, only yellow.
- The countdown at the top to leaving or bedtime turns yellow at 10 minutes and red at 5 minutes. When everyone is ready, it turns green.
Use the remote

- Press the remote
The first press shows a frame around the box you are on. Move it with the arrows or the touch surface.
- Click to open
A routine opens with all its steps. Click a step to tick it on or off. Driving, appointments, school and the tomorrow panel show the full list.
- Press ‹ to close
You are back on the overview. The frame disappears by itself after half a minute, and an open box closes after a minute.
Ticks on the TV are saved straight away and show in the app. Ticks from the phone appear on the screen within a few seconds.
If something is missing
- The screen only shows the clock, even though the routine is running. Check that the routine is marked as the first or last routine of the day, and that “Show in weekly plan” is turned on.
- A family member is shown with an empty row. Their own routine isn't marked as “First routine of the day (wake-up)” or “Last routine of the day (bedtime)”.
- A family member is missing entirely. They haven't accepted the invitation to the family yet.
- A tick jumps back. The Apple TV couldn't save it. Check the internet connection and try again.
