In short: go to Chores, click “+” in the family member's column, give the chore a name, and turn on “Paid” if it should pay out pocket money.
Before you start
A chore is a task with no fixed date or time — unlike a routine, which always sits at a set time of day. Use chores for things like “take out the bin” or “tidy the room”, that just need to happen sometime during the day.
Step by step
- Go to Chores and find the column
Click “+” in the column for the family member the chore should apply to.
- Fill in icon, name, and category
For example “Take out the bin” with the category Housework. Add a description if relevant.
- Turn on “Paid” if relevant
Set a fixed amount, and choose whether it requires a parent's approval, or is added to the balance automatically once the child marks it done.
- Save the chore
It now shows up in the column, with a coin marker if it's paid, and a padlock if it requires approval.

Good advice
- Start with a few, clear chores per child. It's easier to keep motivation up than with a long list.
- Use approval on the pricier chores. And auto-approval on the fixed, low-paid ones, like “set the table”.
- A chore doesn't disappear once it's done. It moves to a “done today” section and comes back the next day.
If a chore isn't updating
Undo a mistaken check-off the same day by “undoing” the chore on the card. If it still isn't behaving as expected, write to us.
