Add or remove a routine for one day

Need one upcoming day to look different, without touching the routine template itself? That's what Dates is for.

Web appUpdated September 15, 2026

In short: go to Dates, choose an upcoming day, and add or remove a routine for that one day — without changing the routine template itself.

Before you start

Use Dates when you need a one-off exception — an extra activity on a particular day, or a routine cancelled on a holiday. If the change should apply permanently going forward, use the routine editor under Routines instead.

Step by step

  1. Go to Dates

The left side shows the next 10 days, grouped by week. Today is marked with a green “Today” tag.

  2. Click the day you want to adjust

Every family member gets their own column.

  3. Remove a routine for the day

Click the bin icon on a routine card at the top of the column — it removes the routine only for the selected day.

  4. Add a routine for the day

Click the plus icon under the “Add” heading for a routine template that isn't set up that day yet.

Good advice

  • Changes take effect immediately. They only affect the selected day — the rest of the week's plan and the template itself stay unchanged.
  • The page only shows the next 10 days. Need to go further ahead, use the week plan or Planning instead.
  • Combine with the week plan. So you can see how a day's exception looks in the wider week.

If the day isn't updating

Check these two things:

  1. Are you logged into the right account, and have you chosen the right day in the list?
  2. Try reloading the page — changes save immediately, but the display can occasionally need a refresh.
